To see with heart!

In the context of the project “Let’s present children with a fairy-tale” activists of Democratic Alliance visited an orphanage. This time they went to the boarding-school for children with eyesight defects which is situated in the town of Boyarka in Kyiv region.

The children were so excited by the visit of the volunteers. And this is not surprising, because as the teachers admitted - only church organizations and patrons visited children and only on holidays. So the volunteers tried to give the children as much kindness and warmth as they could.

The event began with psychological training in order to help the children determine their temperaments and spheres of realization, and finished with workshops on how to tie neck-ties for older boys and how to create an elegant hair-do for girls. Younger group played with puzzles, learnt about the features of the foreign countries and drew funny pictures.

The volunteers tried to do their best to make children happy. Except psychological defects these children have psychical ones and they clearly realize that after leaving the boarding-school they have to go into the adult life, absolutely unprotected by the state.  The state doesn’t have enough means to pay for the medical treatment or operation for the child who wants to see the world and not just to feel it.

But active youth will continue to work with children-orphans so they won’t feel lack of attention and care.
