On December 13th representatives of the organizations-participants of civil campaign “New citizen” organized a protest-action against adoption of the Housing Code in second hearing.
On queuing up, the participants of the action sent the fire wood in form of pages of the draft Housing code into the improvised stove.
Also the Manifest against housing slavery which has already been signed by over 20 public organizations was promulgated. Today petition is declared open: the requirement to the power to refuse attempts "to enslave millions of Ukrainians and deprive them of their right to dispose of their property" can be signed by all interested persons.
The Housing Code is incomparably more dangerous than Tax, Labour and other codes which are stamped hastily by the present power. In case of its acceptance millions of Ukrainians become rightsless serfs and defenseless debtors in their own dwellings. The draft Housing code foresees that EVERY owner of the apartment MUST conclude the agreement with the administrative company which will fleece them", - it is said in the Manifest.
Participants of the protest-action support cancellation of the Housing Code and improvement of the laws in force which regulate activity of municipal services and their relations with owners of habitations.
